Is my photo private?
Your selfie is sent to our AI generation provider (Singapore region) for generation and deleted from our servers within 24 hours. We do not retain face geometry, and the image is not used to train any model. Full terms in our Biometric Retention & Destruction Policy.
How long does it take?
The $2.99 preview (1–3 images) is ready in under a minute. The full pack (30–70 images after upgrade) takes roughly three to five minutes — we train an identity-locked model on your face and quality-check each output. Live Activity pings you when it is done, so lock the phone if you want.
Is there really no free tier?
Correct. We charge $2.99 to see your preview, and we credit that $2.99 back when you upgrade. Free tiers force apps to ship watermarked, low-res images that look bad on purpose — we would rather charge less than a coffee and ship you the real thing.
What does the $2.99 actually buy me?
One to three identity-locked preview images, full resolution, no watermark, yours to keep. If you decide to upgrade to a 30/50/70 image pack, the $2.99 is credited toward that upgrade as bonus content. If you walk away, you still keep the preview images.
Can I edit prompts?
Not in Phase 0. Styles are curated and rotated monthly to keep quality high. Custom prompts are on the roadmap; vote for them in-app.
What if I don't like the result?
Email [email protected]. We honor reasonable refund requests within Apple's refund policy. No "you downloaded once so no refund" dark pattern.
Is this AI-generated?
Yes. Every output is created by a generative AI model from your selfie. The outputs are synthetic and may differ from real photographs. We embed a C2PA Content Credentials manifest in every download and ship a visible "AI" mark, per Apple Guideline 5.1.2(i) and EU AI Act Article 50.
Available outside the US?
At launch: US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Singapore, Hong Kong. EU launch follows AI Act compliance work (live by August 2026). Japan and Korea are Phase 1.
AI disclosure
HeadshotMax uses generative artificial intelligence to create new images from a selfie you provide. All outputs are synthetic and may differ from real photographs in appearance, expression, clothing, and background. Do not use HeadshotMax outputs to misrepresent identity, impersonate other people, defraud, harass, or in any context that violates platform terms of service or applicable law (including the EU AI Act, UK Online Safety Act, and US state biometric privacy statutes). Your selfie is processed for generation and is not retained to train any model.
For Illinois residents
HeadshotMax processes a scan of your facial geometry — a biometric identifier under the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (740 ILCS 14). Your selfie is sent to our AI generation provider (Singapore region) for the sole purpose of generating your stylized headshot. The input image is deleted within 24 hours of generation. Face geometry is never persisted by HeadshotMax. Full schedule in our Biometric Retention & Destruction Policy. Continuing to use the app constitutes written consent under 740 ILCS 14/15(b).
